2011 Bromham Show - Sunday July 10th

Last year's Bromham Show was great success and widely seen as 'The Best Bromham Show ever'. Packed with a wide variety of activities and attractions, it had something to interest all of the family.

Lance HaggithThe show was officially opened by Lance Haggith, the 2010 BBC Sports Personality of The Year 'Unsung Hero' in recognition of his work in coaching youngsters in the sport of basketball. Lance is a Bromham resident and we were thrilled that he came to the show.

There was plenty for everyone to do and see throughout the afternoon, from the central arena attractions and side shows, to the craft fair and of course the many hundreds of exhibits created by the people of the village.

The highlight of the afternoon was the appearance of the Battle of Britain Lancaster Bomber. We were treated to 4 very low fly-overs of the show field and the emotions were running high as the crowds cheered and the Dambuster theme tune rang out across the show ground. The pilot flew so close to the ground, banking the aircraft steeply as he did so, that we could all see him waiving from the cock-pit - all agreed that it was brilliant and a real high point for the show.

Apart from the fly-past we were treated to displays of Falconry, Duck and Sheep obedience with some amazing sheepdogs, Hip-Hop Dancing, Under 9's Football and a Marching Band.

Around the show ground we also had bouncy castles and rides, classic cars, buses and motorcycles, a large craft fair, and Airfix model making tent, a wide variety of trade stalls and many different food and beverage stalls.

Lance Haggith presented all exhibition class winners with their cups and trophies, and also the Grand Prize Draw winners.

Thanks to all those who assisted in making it such a brilliant show and many thanks to all those who turned up to support the event - we're all now looking forward 2012

Profits from the show are distributed by means of donations to local organisations Churches and charities.
